The House on Lounsbury
I’ve always been drawn to older homes with angled ceilings, awkward spaces and subtle quirks that make a house feel as though it has a story.
Ten months into our search, I visited a friend who had just finished her new build.

A Fireplace That Belongs
The house on Lounsbury sits on forty acres. Twenty of them are wooded. Trees are continually falling, leaving more wood than you could ever burn through. So a gas fireplace never felt like an option.
A wood-burning fireplace was the obvious decision. The stone that surrounded it took more thought.

The Warmth of Wood
I wanted the house to feel settled. Not old, necessarily, but as though it had already been lived in. As though it had already belonged to someone.
